CHILDREN YOUTH PROGRAMS

Please take the time to check out all of our children & youth programs by Mason-Dixon Community Services, inc.

After School Program

MDCS, in partnership with North Harford Middle School, provides an after-school mentoring program for at-risk students who are doing poorly in school. Students will be matched with a volunteer mentor who will assist with homework as well as to serve as a positive role model and to offer guidance and encouragement.

Guest speakers are scheduled to talk with students about a variety of topics including career opportunities, making healthy choices, and ways to expand their world view.

A healthy snack will also be provided for participants.

This program provides a vital opportunity to empower youth while preventing yet another generation of poverty or drug addiction.

Summer Camps

Each summer the Delta office partners with the Southern Branch YMCA to hold a summer day camp program for all children, ages 5 to 12, who live in southeastern York and northern Harford Counties. The caring environment of this camp provides children with opportunities to have fun and exciting experiences.

Please call 717-456-5559 for more information.

Summer Camp Scholarships

MDCS provides summer camp scholarships to Camp Hidden Valley for children ages 5-16 who wish to attend a residential camp. This provides a healthy, safe environment for our younger clients allowing them the opportunity to swim, travel, create as well as to gain leadership experience while expanding their world view.

Ready2Learn

MDCS distributes school supplies and gift cards to our clients, and allows teachers in the North Harford school district to shop free of charge for school supplies.

Women, Infants & Children (WIC)

The Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children, also known as WIC, provides supplemental food and nutrition education for pregnant and breast-feeding women, mothers who have given birth within the past six months and children up to 5 years old. The WIC program is brought to the Delta office by the Community Progress Council (CPC) on the first Thursday of every month.

Please call 717-843-7942 for eligibility and scheduling information.
